Kim Go-eun donates 50 million won for earthquake relief… “Sending support to Myanmar”

Actress Kim Go-eun has donated 50 million won to aid the victims of the earthquake in Myanmar.

The child rights organization 'Good Neighbors' stated on the 2nd, "Kim Go-eun donated 50 million won for the residents affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar." The donation will be used for emergency relief operations, providing food and essential supplies to the affected areas in central and northern Myanmar, as well as Bangkok, Thailand. Psychological programs for the affected children will also be supported.

Kim Go-eun expressed, "My heart aches upon hearing the news of the people in Myanmar who lost their homes in an instant," and added, "I want to send my support to the residents in the affected areas who are experiencing sorrow."

A representative from Good Neighbors thanked Kim Go-eun, saying, "We deeply appreciate the invaluable donation for the disaster victims in Myanmar" and promised to deliver assistance to those whose lives have been disrupted by the earthquake.

Kim Go-eun has consistently engaged in charitable activities. On the 27th of last month, she donated 50 million won to help victims of wildfires in Ulsan, North Gyeongsang Province, and South Gyeongsang Province. In 2023, she contributed 30 million won for emergency relief efforts following the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

She has also supported low-income households, donating 100 million won to families struggling due to COVID-19 in 2020. Kim Go-eun has also been listed as a member of the high-value donor group 'The Neighbors Honors Club.'

Meanwhile, the earthquake in Myanmar struck on the 28th of last month, registering a magnitude of 7.7 and causing casualties. As of the 2nd (Korean time), approximately 2,700 people have died and around 4,500 have been injured.
