Kim Go-eun and writer Lee Dong-geun make a comeback… ‘Yumi’s Cells 3’ set to be released next year.

Actor Kim Go-eun has joined the cast of "Yumi's Cells Season 3."

On the 13th, the streaming service Tving announced, "We are producing 'Yumi's Cells Season 3' (written by Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung-ran, directed by Lee Sang-yeob), and Kim Go-eun will return in the role of Yumi."

"Yumi's Cells Season 3" (hereafter "Yumi's Cells 3") is a sequel to "Yumi's Cells." Based on the original webtoon, it marks the release of a new series after about three years.

Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun) becomes a star author while still living her daily life with the cells that only know her. The story depicts her growth and the process of love.

The original production team has teamed up once again. Director Lee Sang-yeob returns to direct following Seasons 1 and 2, while writers Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung-ran also lend their talents.

Particularly, Kim Go-eun's participation is heightening expectations. She gained viewers' empathy through her portrayal of Yumi, showcasing a perfect adaptation of the character and winning hearts.

Kim Go-eun expressed her feelings, saying, "I am honored to be able to continue Yumi's story," adding, "I want to capture the various turning points that Yumi experiences in her life."

She continued, "Since 2021, it has been a journey with Yumi," expressing her hope to "successfully conclude the series."

In Season 3, unexpected romance comes to Yumi as she fulfills her dream of being a writer. The cell village returns to life with Yumi feeling the excitement of love.

A representative stated, "Kim Go-eun portrays a more mature Yumi in a delightful manner," and asked the audience to look forward to the cells' activities related to love, relationships, and emotions.

Meanwhile, "Yumi's Cells 3" is set to be released on Tving in the first half of next year.
