The 95th Choonhyang Festival selects Miss Choonhyang, Yonsei University's Kim Do-Yeon chosen

In the 95th Choonhyang Festival, which selects traditional beauty in South Korea, Kim Do-Yeon (20, Wonju, Gangwon, Yonsei University) was selected as Miss Choonhyang.

On the 30th of last month, she won first place at the Global Choonhyang Selection Contest held at a special stage on Yocheon-ro in Namwon City.

Kim stated, "I am so happy and excited," adding, "I want to create traditional Korean Hanbok designs that combine tradition and modernity for globalization."

She also mentioned, "The reason why the Choonhyang Festival has been able to continue is due to strong and proactive women," expressing her desire to be an active and dynamic Choonhyang.

The first runner-up was Lee Ji-Eun (21, Seoul, Sungshin Women's University), the second runner-up was Jeong Chae-Rin (26, Yongin, Gyeonggi, Hongik University), the third runner-up was Choi Jeong-Won (24, Seoul, Dongduk Women's University graduate), the fourth runner-up was Lee Ga-Ram (22, Seoul, Ewha Womans University), and the fifth runner-up was Mai (25, Estonia, Seoul National University).

The special award for Global Ambassador went to Kim So-Eun (23, Canada, Jeonbuk National University) and Hyun Hye-Seung (24, USA, University of Pennsylvania), while the Choonhyang Festival sponsor’s award called the Kobix Award was won by Park Se-Jin (22, Seoul, Ewha Womans University).

Meanwhile, the Choonhyang Festival's "Choonhyang Selection Contest" is a beauty contest that has produced many star-level entertainers, including actress Choi Ran (1979), Park Ji-Young (1988), Oh Jeong-Hae (1992), and Yoon Son-Ha (1994).

This year, the competition was exceptionally fierce, as doors were opened to foreign participants, with more than 600 people participating, marking the highest number in history.
