The release schedule for JYP Entertainment's rookie boy group 'KickFlip' debut project content has been postponed. This is due to the aftermath of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident.
On the afternoon of the 30th, JYP Entertainment announced, "The KickFlip content, originally scheduled for release at midnight on January 1, 2025, has been postponed. The content will now be uploaded at midnight on January 6."
A representative further stated, "If there are any additional changes, we will provide further notice. We ask for the understanding of the fans who have been waiting patiently and express our deep condolences for the unfortunate accident."
KickFlip is JYP's first boy group in seven years since Stray Kids. The team name embodies their ambition to break away from existing conventions and make new strides, just like flipping a board and moving forward.
Previously, Jeju Air flight 7C2216 attempted to land on the runway of Muan International Airport on the morning of the 29th. During this attempt, it crashed and collided with the runway's outer wall. Of the 181 passengers on board, 179 perished.
The government has declared a national mourning period for seven days until the 4th of next month. The entertainment industry has also been affected, with the cancellation of various official events and concerts, including major year-end award ceremonies and showcases.
