The promoter of American rapper Kanye West's (YE) concert in South Korea claimed that the cancellation of the concert was a unilateral notification. 'Channel Candy', which organized Kanye's concert, stated on its official SNS on the 20th, "We received a unilateral notice of termination of the concert contract from Coupang Play on the 19th."

They added, "We confirmed that a ticket refund announcement was posted through another media outlet. We are currently waiting for a response from the organizers. We will minimize confusion and respond responsibly until the end."

A representative from Coupang Play maintained the same stance in a phone call with 'Dispatch' on the 21st, stating, "The concert has been canceled due to the artist's controversies."

Kanye was scheduled to hold his concert 'BULLY' at Incheon Munhak Stadium on the 31st. It was canceled about 10 days before the event, and merchandise sales were also halted.

Coupang Play announced on the 19th, "We inform you that the YE concert has unfortunately been canceled due to controversies involving Kanye West."

Kanye has repeatedly made statements praising Hitler and Nazism. On the 8th, he released the single 'Hail Hitler' on the anniversary of Europe’s victory in World War II. The lyrics repeated, "All my friends are Nazis. Hail Hitler." At the end of the song, he sampled Hitler's speech and included it. This appears to be the starting point of the current controversy.

Meanwhile, Kanye visited Korea for the first time in 14 years last August. He performed at the Goyang Comprehensive Sports Complex with the 'YE x Ty Dolla Sign Vultures Listening Experience' stage. He was 1 hour and 10 minutes late for the performance.
