Five Korean dramas land in France, invited to the Cannes Series.
The 8th Cannes International Series Festival (hereafter referred to as Cannes Series) recently announced the selected works for its competitive sections (feature and short series), documentary competition, and non-competitive series section.
Multiple Korean works made it to the lineup. "S-Line," produced by Siodus, is competing in the feature category and is the only K-drama to enter the competition section.
"S-Line" is a fantasy thriller based on a webtoon of the same name. The story unfolds when a red line signifying a sexual relationship appears above a person's head one day.
Domestic broadcasting has yet to be decided, with the world premiere set to take place at the Cannes Series. The series consists of six episodes and will provide subtitles in French and English.
The remaining four works were selected for the non-competitive section (Rendezvous). "Intimate Betrayer" (written by Han Ah-young, directed by Song Yeon-hwa) and "Ghost Stories" (written by Yoon Sun-hee and Park So-hee, directed by Lim Kyung-taek) have made the list.
"The Hunter with the Scalpel" (written by Jo Han-young, Park Hyun-sin, Hong Yeon-i, and Jin Se-hyuk, directed by Lee Jeong-hoon) and "Fairy Fasting Center" (written by Shin Gyeong-i, directed by Cho Chang-geun) are also included. They will have special screenings.
These series will be introduced on the 30th (Korean time) at the Jean Mermoz Auditorium. Actors Nam Gyu-ri, Hong Soo-hyun, Park Joo-hyun, Ryu Seung-soo, Jo Hye-jung, director Lee Jeong-hoon, and director Song Yeon-hwa will be attending.
Meanwhile, the Cannes Series is a festival targeting drama content from around the world, now in its 8th year. It will take place in Cannes from the 25th to the 30th.
