JYP Entertainment shares the love received from fans. They are stepping up to support medical expenses for children in vulnerable groups. JYP will host an amateur charity basketball tournament at the Yonsei University Gymnasium in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, on the 30th of this month and the 1st, 7th, and 8th of next month, for a total of four days.
The event is named the ‘JYP Basketball Tournament’ (hereinafter ‘JYPBT’). A total of 27 domestic basketball clubs, including ‘Owls’, ‘Black Label’, ‘J. Crew’, and ‘BPM’, will participate. On the finals day, the 8th of next month, various events will be held. In the ‘JYP Challenge’ segment, artists and basketball players will form teams. The team with the highest score within the set time will have a donation made in their name.
JYP’s chief producer Park Jin-young will also participate. Additionally, known basketball enthusiasts like Jung Jin-woon, Kim Tae-woo, and Yoo Hee-kwan will hold 5-on-5 matches with players, offering various spectacles in each event. All participation fees from the teams in the basketball tournament will be used in full for the treatment of children in vulnerable groups through Samsung Seoul Hospital. JYP will contribute additional donations, joining in social contribution efforts.
Wilson, the official supplier of NBA basketballs, serves as an official sponsor of the tournament, providing official balls, souvenirs, and uniforms for participating teams. They extend their positive influence by donating funds. This tournament can be watched for free at the Yonsei University Gymnasium. The finals and event matches will be broadcast live on ‘JYPBT’ YouTube.
Basketball commentators Cho Hyun-il, Kim Eun-hye, Jung Yong-geom, Kim Il-doo, and Han Jang-hee will deliver the excitement of the scene vividly. Meanwhile, aiming to give back the love received from domestic and international fans, JYP is systematizing its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities. Under the catchphrase ‘EDM’ (Every Dream Matters!), they continue to conduct various social contribution projects.
