Jungkook of 'BTS' has been nominated for the 'MTV Video Music Awards'.
The '2024 MTV Video Music Awards' announced this year's nominees on its official website on the 6th (local time). Jungkook has been listed in two categories.
Jungkook's solo song from last year, 'Seven', has been nominated in the 'Best Collaboration' and 'Best K-Pop' categories.
In the 'Best Collaboration' category, Jungkook will be competing against Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Drake, and other global pop stars, once again proving his global pop star status.
This marks his nomination in the 'MTV VMA' for the third consecutive year. In 2022, he was nominated for 'Song of Summer' as the first Korean solo artist with his collaboration song 'Left and Right' with Charlie Puth.
At last year's awards ceremony, 'Seven' was selected as the 'Song of Summer' winner. Jungkook became the first Korean solo artist to win in that category.
'Seven' took the world by storm upon its release in July last year. It achieved impressive results on major global music charts, including 1st place on the Billboard 'Hot 100' and 3rd place on the UK Official Singles Chart.
In April, it ranked 1st on Billboard's '2024 International Power Players', becoming the most popular song in over 200 countries and regions worldwide, excluding the US, as certified by Billboard.
Meanwhile, the 'MTV VMA' will be held on the 10th of next month at the UBS Arena in New York.
