‘Jung Nyeon’ Dominates Box Office Indicators…No. 1 ‘Korean Preferred Drama’

tvN's 'Jungnyeoni' (written by Choi Hyo-bi, directed by Jung Ji-in) has swept various popularity indicators. 'Jungnyeoni' premiered on the 12th and depicts the journey of a naturally gifted singer striving to become a traditional musical theater actress. It portrays competition and solidarity among female characters.

The show has been experiencing high viewership ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, 'Jungnyeoni' started with 4.8% (national average) for its first episode. It reached double-digit ratings by the fourth episode. The latest episode, the sixth, recorded a 13.5% viewership rating, ranking first across all channels in its time slot. It continues its momentum by breaking its own highest ratings.

In terms of buzz, it maintained the top position. On the 28th, 'Jungnyeoni' ranked first in the drama category of the 'Korean Viewer's Choice Program' announced by Gallup Korea. It also ranked first in the TV-OTT buzz ranking by the Good Data Corporation for the fourth week of October, maintaining the top spot in the drama category for three consecutive weeks. The cast members are also staying in the top buzz rankings. Kim Tae-ri, who plays Jungnyeoni, ranked first in the performer buzz category, followed by Shin Ye-eun in second place, and Jung Eun-chae in fourth.

The foreign press also took note. Singapore's 'The Straits Times' described 'Jungnyeoni' as "featuring a captivating underdog story and brilliant performances from its perfect casting."

Meanwhile, 'Jungnyeoni' airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM.
