
Actor Jung Il-woo will make a special appearance in the Korean-Vietnamese joint film 'Going to Abandon Mother' (working title).
'Going to Abandon Mother' tells the story of Huan, a poor street barber in Vietnam. Huan's health deteriorates while taking care of his mother with dementia, and he decides to seek help from his brother who lives in Korea.
The film is centered around Vietnam and Korea, and it promises to be a touching family narrative.
Jung Il-woo will appear in flashback scenes of the main characters. He will play the ex-husband 'Jung Min' of Huan's (played by Tuan Tran) mother with dementia, Hong Dao (played by Hong Dao).
Tuan Tran is a star actor in Vietnam, appearing in 'Mai,' the highest-grossing film in local history. Hong Dao is a famous actress in Vietnam, known as the 'mother of the people.'
Director Mo Hong-jin is taking the helm of 'Going to Abandon Mother.' Mo Hong-jin has directed films such as '2037' and 'Waiting for You.'
Jung Il-woo expressed his thoughts on appearing in the film: "The subtle resonance and message of the film left a deep impression on me, so I decided to make a special appearance."
'Going to Abandon Mother' will start filming in Korea on the 26th and plans to finish shooting in Vietnam this December. It aims to be released in the first half of next year.
