Actress Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won are returning this September in a thrilling spy melodrama. The new Disney+ series "Polaris" (written by Jung Se-kyeong, directed by Kim Hee-won and Heo Myeong-haeng) is set to be released on September 10. On the 23rd, the poster for "Into the Storm" was unveiled, featuring Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won.

The poster contrasts red and black-and-white tones, depicting the two characters seemingly jumping into a storm. It hints at a story where they rely on each other while navigating unpredictable events.

An ominous atmosphere is created by an unidentified object submerged deep underwater and the silhouette of a fighter jet cutting through the sky. What kind of events will unfold around the giant secret that will shake the world?

"Polaris" starts with Moon Joo (played by Jun Ji-hyun), who has built an international reputation as a UN ambassador, pursuing the mastermind behind an attack on a presidential candidate. Together with special agent Sanho (played by Kang Dong-won), the story confronts a huge truth that threatens the Korean Peninsula.

The series brings together director Kim Hee-won, known for "The Queen of Tears" and "Vincenzo," and director Heo Myeong-haeng, known for the film "The Outlaws 4" and "The Wilderness." Screenwriter Jung Se-kyeong, who authored "Decision to Leave" and tvN's "Little Women," is also on board.

Additionally, the cinematographer Im Mo-gae, known for films like "Tomb Raiding" and "Spring in Seoul," the music director Dalparan from Disney+'s "Moving" and the film "Runaway," and music director Jeong Jae-il from "Parasite," "Squid Game," and "Mickey 17," along with art director Kim Byeong-han, who worked on "Nine Puzzle" and "Suriname," have all joined forces.

This top-notch production team has come together for an exciting project. The casting lineup is also robust, featuring a diverse array of talents, including John Cho, Park Hae-jin, Kim Hae-sook, Yoo Jae-myung, Oh Jeong-se, Lee Sang-hee, Joo Jong-hyuk, and Won Ji-an, each bringing their unique charm and personality to the table.

"Polaris" will premiere three episodes on September 10, followed by the release of two episodes weekly starting from the 17th, allowing viewers to enjoy a total of nine stories.
