A stabbed the victim, B, with a weapon in September of last year at an office room in Yeonje-gu, Busan. At the time of the crime, A entered the residence as B opened the front door to receive a delivery.

The court deemed the act as premeditated, noting that A had prepared the murder weapon in advance and waited for four hours near the victim's residence.

Additionally, A was criticized for attempting to evade responsibility by taking drugs. As a result, A was also ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device for ten years.

B had reported A to the police three times during their relationship, stating concerns such as "A's voice is loud and scary" and "I feel scared that A might be on the street." However, B did not wish to receive protective measures, so the cases were closed.

A's defense argued during the trial that the murder was not premeditated and requested a mental evaluation with the intent of seeking a lighter sentence.

However, the court did not accept this claim. B's attorney submitted a statement arguing that A had no psychological issues, citing that A waited in front of B's home to commit the crime.

B's mother expressed dissatisfaction immediately after the verdict, stating, "Even though it was a planned crime, the sentence is too light." She revealed that following the incident, she was diagnosed with depression and cancer. B's sibling also testified, saying, "A's crime has shattered our family's daily life," and demanded the death penalty, the maximum sentence.
