Actors Jinyoung and Dahyun of ‘TWICE’ are portraying a refreshing first love. The film ‘You Are the Apple of My Eye’ (Director Cho Young-myung) announced on the 16th that the new project starring Jinyoung and Dahyun is set to be released on February 21.
‘You Are the Apple of My Eye’ is an adaptation of the Taiwanese film of the same name. It captures the story of a boy’s first love, which began during his school days. Jinyoung plays Jin-woo, a mischievous high school student who makes a belated confession to his first love. He portrays this character both in his teens and twenties.
Dahyun takes on the role of Sun-ah, the most popular girl, known for her shy yet determined personality. Together with Jinyoung, they will evoke the excitement of first love. The film has garnered significant attention domestically and internationally before its release. Particularly, overseas reactions were enthusiastic upon the casting announcement, with many countries securing pre-sales.
The film also graced the red carpet at the 29th Busan International Film Festival, having been officially invited to the ‘Korean Cinema Today – Panorama’ section. Before its official release, it had a special screening, selling out all seats within 10 minutes of the ticketing opening.
The film leaves a profound impression with a different sentiment from the original. Meanwhile, ‘You Are the Apple of My Eye’ will be available for viewing in theaters nationwide starting February 21.
