BTS’s Jin appeared in front of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, on the 15th (Korean time). He participated as a torchbearer for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Jin visited the torch relay center inside the Louvre Museum that day. He moved to Rivoli Street under police escort and carried the torch to the Carrousel Square.
Fans (known as ARMY) had been waiting near the Louvre Museum for about 12 hours. They cheered enthusiastically when Jin appeared.
He participated in the torch relay for 10 minutes. He smiled at the fans who had been waiting. He then passed the torch to a former French freestyle skiing national representative.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) also took note of Jin’s torch relay. They uploaded the scene on their official SNS, urging more attention with “11 days left.”
Jin said, “It’s an honor to participate in such a meaningful moment,” and added, “I was able to serve as a torchbearer because of ARMY.”
He continued, “I was so nervous that I didn’t realize how time passed, but thanks to the support of many, I was able to do my best.”
He wished success for the Korean national team. “I hope you achieve great results for all your hard work. I will cheer with you all,” he applauded.
Jin also expressed his hopes for continued interest in the 17th Paris Paralympics, saying, “I will work even harder and show my best.”
The torch relay for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics began in Olympia, Greece, last April. It will tour 64 regions until the 26th.
