Jeong Han-gil says he will personally send ‘questionnaires’ for the verification of party leader candidates… Kim Moon-soo and Jang Dong-hyuk “Of course, we will respond.”

Jeon Han-gil "I will ask whether you will accompany Yoon Seok-yeol"… Reactions from candidates for the People Power Party leadership divided

Jeon Han-gil, a former history lecturer who joined the People Power Party, announced that he will send an open questionnaire to the candidates running for the party leadership election.

On the 21st, Jeon appeared on Channel A's YouTube and stated, "I am thinking of sending an open questionnaire asking the candidates for the People Power Party whether they will sever ties with former President Yoon Seok-yeol or walk alongside him," adding, "I will support the candidate who says they will definitely walk together."

Positions among the candidates for the People Power Party leadership were sharply divided. Former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo and People Power Party lawmaker Jang Dong-hyuk stated in an interview with the Chosun Ilbo that they would respond sincerely to Jeon Han-gil's open questionnaire.

A spokesperson for former Minister Kim remarked, "If it's something we can answer, we will naturally do so," while lawmaker Jang said, "Isn't a YouTuber a kind of media? We will sincerely respond to the inquiries sent by the media (Jeon) to verify the candidates."

Earlier, Jeon also suggested a unification of the party leadership candidates including Kim and Jang.

"Not worth responding to"

On the other hand, other party leadership candidates, including An Cheol-soo, Joo Kyung-tae, and Joo Jin-woo, have drawn the line, stating they will not respond to Jeon's questions.

Lawmaker An remarked, "It is inappropriate to receive a questionnaire from someone who does not even qualify as a party member and respond to it," adding, "It is not worth even considering."

Additionally, lawmaker Joo stated, "There is no value in responding," while lawmaker Joo Jin-woo said, "Even if I receive an open questionnaire, I will not respond. If Jeon truly wants to rebuild conservatism, it is necessary for him to refrain from political activity at this time."

Meanwhile, as it became known that Jeon had joined the party, the leadership of the People Power Party ordered a review of measures in accordance with party rules regarding his words and actions.

The Ethics Committee of the People Power Party held its first meeting on the 25th to designate some members as dedicated ethics officers and is examining whether to impose disciplinary measures on Jeon.
