“Jeon Kwang-hoon, pointed out as behind the ‘Western District Court Riot,’ says ‘If 10 million gather, Lee Jae-myung should resign’”

Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon Claims President Lee Jae-myung Should Resign Through 'People's Resistance Right' at Gwanghwamun Rally on the 16th

Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon of the Sarang Jeil Church, who is under police investigation for being implicated in the recent Gwangju District Court disorder, stated that he would push for President Lee Jae-myung's resignation through the 'People's Resistance Right.'

On the 11th, Pastor Jeon announced through his YouTube channel that he plans to hold a rally named 'People's Assembly' at Gwanghwamun Square on the 16th.

In particular, Pastor Jeon insisted that President Lee Jae-myung must resign through the exercise of the 'People's Resistance Right' and called for the strong mobilization of supporters to the Gwanghwamun Square rally.

He asserted, "On Saturday the 16th, one million people must gather at Gwanghwamun Square," and added, "Only if one million people gather can we exercise the People's Resistance Right, which is necessary to protect the Republic of Korea and to force Lee Jae-myung to resign."

Pastor Jeon encouraged maximum participation from supporters by stating, "When one million people gather, they will have authority second only to God," and "The People's Resistance Right has authority above the Constitution." Such remarks raise concerns as they could be interpreted as a challenge to constitutional order and the principles of the rule of law.

Notably, Pastor Jeon has given specific mobilization orders to unit representatives of his grassroots organization, 'Freedom Village.'

He clearly instructed, "Tell the representatives of the 3,518 neighborhoods to mobilize one vehicle each. I will count, so all neighborhood representatives must mobilize vehicles."

This statement aligns with similar claims made by Pastor Jeon back in January.

At that time, he mentioned the People's Resistance Right during a rally held the day before the arrest warrant was issued for former President Yoon Seok-youl, arguing that citizens should forcibly bring the former president out of the detention center.

Currently, the police believe that Pastor Jeon's statements and actions have incited the disorder at the Gwangju District Court. Accordingly, he is under investigation for charges including trespassing on special property, obstructing special public duties, embezzlement in office, and violations of the Assembly and Demonstration Act.
