Jennie of 'BLACKPINK' spent a special time with fans and unveiled her new song for the first time. On the 27th, Jennie held a listening party to celebrate the release of her solo full-length album 'Ruby' at the Hyundai Card Understage in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
The listening party was a place to let fans hear the new album tracks first. A total of 15 songs were unveiled, including the pre-released song 'ExtraL'. There were also surprise guests. Singer Zico and actor Yeo Jin-goo appeared as MCs for each section, helping to convey stories about the new album.
About the album name, Jennie shared, "I wanted to open and close the show curtain by myself. The red curtain of the theater came to mind, and I thought of a red ruby." She imbued her identity into it. "The goal was 'to try it by myself.' If people love that version of me, there will be nothing to fear," she explained.
She confessed her honest thoughts, adding, "It would be nice if fans listen to the songs thinking, 'This is Jennie's taste.'" Regarding the upcoming 'The Ruby Experience,' she announced, "I wanted to share emotions on-site. I will perform all the songs."
She continued, "I am happy and grateful just to be able to share the album with you," and promised, "I will continue to deliver good music in the future."
Meanwhile, Jennie will release 'Ruby' on the 7th of next month. She will host 'The Ruby Experience' shows in Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul.
