The new songs by 'BLACKPINK' Jennie and 'NCT' Jaehyun will not be heard on KBS. On the 23rd, KBS revealed the results of its music review on its official website. Jennie's 'Mantra' and Jaehyun's 'Unconditional' were deemed unsuitable for broadcast.
The reasons for the unsuitability of the two songs were also disclosed. It was considered that the lyrics violated Article 46 of the broadcasting review regulations (restriction on advertising effect). They cited the mentioning of specific product brands. 'Mantra' includes brands like Defender vehicles and In-N-Out Burger. For example, "We had to do a In-N-Out drive-by."
However, even if a song is judged unsuitable for broadcasting, it can be resubmitted for review if the indicated parts are revised or removed. If it passes the review afterward, it can be broadcast.
'Mantra' is a song that encourages everyone to build a confident charm as everyone shines in their own way. It is performing well on global charts such as Billboard and Spotify. Jaehyun's 'Unconditional' is an R&B pop genre song, combining a funky rhythm bass line with soulful choir sounds. It will be released at 6 PM on the 24th.
