Japanese man in his 30s arrested for sexually assaulting a woman after invading a closed izakaya

A 35-year-old hotel cleaner was arrested by the police for sexually assaulting a woman who was sleeping after entering an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) that had closed for business in Shizuoka City, Japan.

According to reports from the local Japanese media Shizuoka TV on the 13th, Shizuoka police arrested the suspect, referred to as Mr. A, for trespassing and non-consensual molestation.

Mr. A is accused of illegally entering a closed izakaya located in Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City, in late May this year and fondling the breasts of a woman in her 20s who was sleeping inside.

The victim immediately reported the incident to the police upon realizing her body was being touched.
