“Still, we might win just once, right?” Jang Yoon-ju has taken on a new challenge. She transformed into a volleyball player in the movie “One Win” (directed by Shin Yeon-shik).
On the 31st, the film’s team introduced her character. She plays the role of ‘Bang Soo-ji,’ the senior-most player of the women’s volleyball team ‘Pink Storm.’ However, she’s been on the bench for 20 years.
It evokes a certain indescribable bittersweetness. Bang Soo-ji’s hobby is warming up at clubs. Improving her skills is not a priority. Her finger training involves knitting at the dormitory. She herself is unaware of her strengths.

Jang Yoon-ju explained Bang Soo-ji’s character personally. “Although she lacks skill and talent, she’s endured in that field for a long time,” she confessed.
She expressed special affection for Bang Soo-ji, saying, “She’s pitiful yet cute. A character you truly want to root for,” urging the audience for their anticipation.

In the drama, Bang Soo-ji survives thin and long like a wet fallen leaf. After meeting Coach Kim Woo-jin (played by Song Kang-ho), she wears the captain’s armband and enters the game as a main player.
Shin Yeon-shik, the director, mentioned, “I wrote Bang Soo-ji thinking about Jang Yoon-ju from the beginning. I saw that image in her cheerful leadership that juniors follow well.”

“One Win” narrates the story of a women’s volleyball team. It’s a challenge for one win by a coach who has never won, an owner who doesn’t care to win, and players who don’t know how to win.
Song Kang-ho transforms into the women’s volleyball team coach ‘Kim Woo-jin.’ His career coaching win rate is below 10%. He has been fired, dismissed, bankrupted, expelled, and divorced. Park Jung-min appears as the new eccentric team owner ‘Kang Jung-won.’
He promises a striking pledge of 2 billion won in prize money if they achieve even a single win. Meanwhile, “One Win” is set to be released in theaters this December.
