Signs of inadequate management have been detected at the Blue House, which was opened to the public after former President Yoon Seok-yeol relocated the presidential office to Yongsan.

On the 28th, KBS reported that, three years after the Blue House was opened to the public, there are signs of poor management in various areas.

According to the report, the "Yongo," a traditional instrument made by craftsman Kim Gwan-sik and designated as Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 12, was found torn and left neglected, having been used by former President Roh Tae-woo.

Additionally, the wooden pillars inside the main building were scratched, and the stones laid on the ground in front of the guest house were broken and unstable, wobbling with just a step.

The helicopter pad at the entrance of the Blue House, which is utilized for experiential activities and performances, was confirmed to not be operational, with the QR code for a VR experience indicating "application not usable on this device."

The Blue House, which was opened in May 2022, has seen a change in management authority between the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for nearly two years.

Ultimately, a foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was established at the end of 2023, but issues arose due to unpaid wages and wrongful dismissal controversies with the subcontractor.

The Blue House Foundation stated, "The wrongful dismissal controversy is unrelated to the foundation," while also confirming that "the torn Yongo is currently under repair after securing a budget last March."
