'Teen' Riley is captivating theaters. The animated film 'Inside Out 2' (directed by Kelsey Mann) surpassed 6 million viewers on its 23rd day of release.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for cinema tickets, 'Inside Out 2' drew 101,449 viewers on the 4th. The cumulative number of viewers is 6,011,539.
'Inside Out 2' has maintained the top spot at the box office for three weeks since its release on the 12th of last month. On the 3rd, it dropped to second place due to the release of 'Escape,' but regained the top spot within a day.
The box office fever seems likely to continue. As of 8:30 AM on the same day, the real-time reservation rate for 'Inside Out 2' is 38.3%, maintaining first place. Approximately 180,000 tickets have already been sold.
There's even potential for it to become a ten-million-viewer film. Among this year’s releases, 'Exhumation' and 'Crime City 4' are the only films that have surpassed 6 million viewers. 'Inside Out 2' is following closely behind.
'Inside Out 2' is an animation. It is the sequel released after nine years. In Riley's mind, now entering adolescence, unfamiliar emotions such as 'anxiety,' 'embarrassment,' 'boredom,' and 'envy' emerge.
Meanwhile, 'Escape' took second place at the box office on the same day. On the 4th, 81,382 viewers watched the film, bringing the total number of viewers to 207,962.
