Medical students who had collectively left their schools in protest against the expansion of medical school quotas have announced their return after approximately one year and five months. Prime Minister Kim Min-seok expressed his support for this decision.
On the 13th, Prime Minister Kim posted on his social media, stating, "The medical community and the National Assembly have declared the return of medical students and requested the government's cooperation," adding, "I am relieved that a significant advance has been achieved."

Prime Minister Kim also conveyed the thoughts of President Lee Jae-myung. He mentioned, "The President has been contemplating solutions and has been requesting resolutions from the Prime Minister and the government," emphasizing that "ultimately, the will of the people is the most important."
He continued, "Now is the time for the medical community, the National Assembly, and the government to reflect more deeply and examine how the public can contribute to solving the problems."
Additionally, Prime Minister Kim stated, "The pain caused by the repeated push for '2,000 students' was too great and profound," and expressed hope that "now we can move toward the recovery of all citizens."
