Incheon Songdo Shooting Murder… Victim's Mother is the Representative of a Famous Aesthetic Brand
In a shocking incident where a father in his 60s shot and killed his son in his 30s with a homemade firearm in a high-rise apartment in Incheon Songdo International City, it has been confirmed that the victim's mother is the representative of a well-known aesthetic brand operating over 140 branches domestically and internationally.
According to a report by News1 on the 21st, the victim, identified as A (30s), who was shot and killed around 9:31 PM the previous day on the 33rd floor of an apartment in Songdo International City, is the son of B (in her 60s), the head of a famous skincare company.
At the time of the incident, B was on a business trip to the United States. A representative from the company stated, "The representative is currently in the United States and is scheduled to return on August 10."
The victim, A, was also active in the industry as the representative of a related brand, just like his mother.
Perpetrator is the Divorced Biological Father… "Maintained Contact Even After Divorce 20 Years Ago"
According to police, the perpetrator is the biological father of the victim and has been divorced from the victim's mother, B, for about 20 years. However, it has been reported that A maintained contact with his father after the divorce.
Immediately following the shooting, the police confirmed the perpetrator's address as Dobong-gu, Seoul, and identified that the owner of the apartment he resided in was indeed the perpetrator himself.
The police stated that the perpetrator, who fled the scene shortly after the incident, used a rental car to travel to Seoul and was arrested around 12:20 AM on the 21st in downtown Seoul and subsequently transported to the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station.
There Was a Birthday Gathering with Grandchildren Present… No Mental Health or Criminal History
At the time of the incident, the victim was celebrating his father's birthday with his wife, two children, and acquaintances. During the gathering, the perpetrator used a homemade firearm to shoot at A, who was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
According to police investigations, the perpetrator was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the arrest, and drug tests returned negative. Additionally, it has been confirmed that he has no history of mental health issues or prior criminal offenses.
The police have commissioned an autopsy from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to determine the exact cause of death of the victim. They have also deployed profilers from the Incheon, Seoul, and Gyeonggi Southern Police Departments to analyze the perpetrator's motive and psychological state, in addition to conducting a thorough investigation to see if there are any mental health-related histories.
