20-Year-Old Man Arrested for Threatening to Murder Elementary School Students

A man in his twenties was arrested by the police after he threatened to murder an elementary school girl when she refused to send him a photo.

On the 21st, the Jungnang Police Station in Seoul announced the arrest of a man identified as A on the 18th on charges of threats and obstruction of official duties by intimidation.

A is accused of posting a threatening message online in December last year, along with a photo of a weapon, stating, "I will go to school next week and kill them all," accompanied by the names of five female students, including a girl named B who attends an elementary school in Seoul.

"I will go to school next week and kill them all."

Threatened after being denied a photo through social media.

According to the investigation, A had previously requested photos and videos from B via social media (SNS) but was blocked by her.

Subsequently, A approached four of B's friends to request B's photos but was rejected.

When the children complained, saying, "Do not contact us anymore," A posted a retaliatory threatening message online.

After receiving the report, the police took measures to protect the victimized students by strengthening patrols around the school for an extended period.

Following an online crime investigation, the police successfully arrested A on the 16th, about six months after the report was filed.

The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
