Ilit will sing the OST for her debut film. Belift Lab announced on the 10th, “Ilit will release the Japanese original song ‘Almond Chocolate’ on the 14th of next month. It was specially produced for the Japanese film OST.”

The song is the theme for the movie “I Don’t Like You Just Because of Your Face,” which is about a female protagonist who likes a handsome senior. Ilit plans to enhance concentration with her sweet voice. The film is based on a manga of the same name, which has surpassed 2 million cumulative sales and is supported by women in their 10s and 20s. Local reactions are already hot with news of Ilit’s collaboration.

“Almond Chocolate” expresses passionate feelings toward one’s favorite person. The lyrics express the feelings of Sainan (played by Kumada Rinka) in the movie, and the song features a cute melody. It boasts a high level of completion, with contributions from Nakajin, the leader of the Japanese band SEKAI NO OWARI, and producer Pdogg, who created BTS’s hit songs “Spring Day” and “Dynamite”.

Ilit introduced the song by saying, “It’s exciting to think that our voices will flow out in theaters. The lyrics are something anyone with a favorite can relate to.” A representative of the agency said, “The OST will be unveiled on Valentine’s Day before the film’s release, increasing anticipation for not only the success of the work but also the birth of a new season song.”

Ilit is gaining popularity in Japan even before her official debut in the country. She became the first K-pop girl group in 13 years to win the Rookie Award at the “66th Shining! Japan Record Awards.”

With her debut song “Magnetic,” she achieved the highest ranking among foreign artists on multiple charts in Billboard Japan 2024, including the annual “Hot 100,” “TikTok Song,” “Streaming Song,” and “Download Song.” That’s not all. She also appeared in Japan’s representative year-end music broadcast program ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen’ and NTV’s ‘Announcement!

The Most Heard Song of the Year ~Annual Music Awards 2024~’, gaining a favorable response. “Magnetic” recently ranked 8th on the “Melon 2024 Annual Chart.” Notably, despite being released in March last year, the song continues to receive unwavering love from global listeners. Ilit set a new record as the first and quickest K-pop debut song to enter. She previously entered the U.S. Billboard Main Song Chart ‘Hot 100’ (April 20th) and the UK ‘Official Singles Top 100’ (April 5th).
