Actors Park Eun-bin and Sul Kyung-gu face off as genius doctors.
On the 12th, Disney+ announced that "Hyperknife" (written by Kim Sun-hee, directed by Kim Jung-hyun) will be released in the first half of next year. The cast lineup includes Park Eun-bin, Sul Kyung-gu, Yoon Chan-young, and Park Byung-eun.
"Hyperknife" is a medical thriller. "Se-ok" was a once-promising genius doctor. She reunites with her mentor "Deok-hee" who had pushed her into a downfall. The two engage in a fierce brain battle.
Park Eun-bin plays "Jung Se-ok." Se-ok was once known as a genius doctor but now lives as a shadow doctor in illegal operating rooms. She reunites with the only mentor she respected, "Choi Deok-hee," after being expelled by him.
Park Eun-bin takes on the most daring and bold character in her filmography. She is expected to portray explosive emotional changes in great realism and detail as she encounters Choi Deok-hee.
Sul Kyung-gu steps into the role of "Choi Deok-hee." Deok-hee is the world's top neurosurgeon. Although he is a globally respected doctor, he has a hidden side that others are unaware of.
Sul Kyung-gu delivers a seamless performance. He plans to command the drama with his distinctive charisma as he reunites and clashes with his once-cherished student Se-ok, pushing her to the edge.
Yoon Chan-young takes on the role of "Seo Young-joo." Seo Young-joo acts as Jung Se-ok’s self-appointed bodyguard, protecting her like a shadow. Park Byung-eun plays the anesthesiologist "Han Hyun-ho." He admires Jung Se-ok's genius and helps her continue performing surgeries.
Writer Kim Sun-hee, who penned the drama "Quiz of God: Reboot" and the Naver webtoon series "Bang Jung-sa," is responsible for the screenplay. Director Kim Jung-hyun, known for works like "Awaken" and "Crazy Love," will helm the project.
