HYBE has joined hands with the Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency (hereafter Gyeonggi Northern Agency) to eradicate cybercrime.

On the 25th, HYBE and the Gyeonggi Northern Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Gyeonggi Northern Government Complex in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, aiming to eliminate deepfake crimes.

This MOU was prompted by cybercrimes targeting artists. Both parties agreed on the need for cooperation between entertainment agencies and investigative bodies for proper investigation.

Recently, there has been an increasing trend of deepfake crimes not only domestically but also on servers based abroad, such as messengers. Celebrities, in particular, face numerous cases of damage from illegal videos.

HYBE explained, "The need for cooperation between agencies and investigative bodies is growing to protect victims from crimes and establish a rapid response system."

The aim is to enhance the artist protection system through this collaboration. To prevent damages and catch perpetrators, they have set up a cybercrime damage report hotline.

Ho-seung Kim, head of the Gyeonggi Northern Agency, stated, "The collaboration with HYBE will improve investigative efficiency," adding, "As cybercrime tactics become more sophisticated, we will enhance our investigative expertise based on the MOU."

Jaesang Lee, CEO of HYBE, expressed, "We are pleased to collaborate with the Gyeonggi Northern Agency, which has expertise in cybercrime investigation," and committed to "doing our best to protect the rights and interests of artists continuously."
