HYBE is searching for a second Cats Eye. They are preparing a second global girl group in collaboration with Geffen Records.
On the 7th, HYBE and Geffen Records announced, "We will start a large-scale audition called 'WORLD SCOUT THE FINAL PIECE' across Japan."
'WORLD SCOUT THE FINAL PIECE' is a project jointly planned by HYBE and Geffen Records. HYBE's elite scouting team will take the lead in discovering prospective stars.
Successful audition candidates will undergo K-Pop-style training from October to December. They will participate in a training schedule developed by HYBE and Geffen Records tailored for the American market.
Afterward, they will join a training camp set up in the U.S. and go through competitions. The final members of the team, aiming to debut next year, will be selected.
This spring, their journey will be exclusively aired on the Japanese OTT service 'ABEMA.' HYBE and Geffen Records stated, "The process of talented individuals with potential growing alongside the world’s top-level producers will be captured."
There are high expectations for whether HYBE's strategy for globalizing K-Pop will succeed once again. HYBE and Geffen Records previously created Cats Eye through the large-scale audition 'THE DEBUT: DREAM ACADEMY' in 2023.
Cats Eye made a sensational debut, recently showcasing their overwhelming musical abilities on stage at 'Lollapalooza Chicago.' They are also making strides on major charts such as the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200.
