Actor Hwang Min-hyun is set to show an exhilarating munchkin action drama. The team behind TVING’s original ‘Study Group’ (written by Eom Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun, directed by Lee Jang-hoon and Yoo Beom-sang) released a poster and a teaser trailer featuring Hwang Min-hyun (as Yoon Ga-min) on the 6th.
‘Study Group’ is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It is a comedic high school action series. The main character is Yoon Ga-min, who wants to study well but only has talent in fighting. He enters the battlefield of fierce competition in the worst-performing school and forms a study group.
Yoon Ga-min is a ‘hidden nerd with strength’ who chooses to fight for the sake of study. It portrays the sweet and salty growth stories of students with their own backgrounds trying to protect the study group. This is enhanced with thrilling impact action adding catharsis.
Directed by Lee Jang-hoon of the films ‘Miracle,’ and ‘Be With You.’ New writers Eom Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun have joined hands. Actors with strong individuality have come together. Leading the pack, Hwang Min-hyun is joined by Cha Woo-min, Lee Jong-hyun, Shin Soo-hyun, Yoon Sang-jung, and Gong Do-yu. In particular, Hwang Min-hyun has undergone a fiery transformation.
The poster captures his ‘hidden nerd with strength’ aspect. He deflected pencils flying in from all directions and unveiled his concealed strength, throwing a nimble punch with a docile face. His sharp gaze pierced through his thick glasses.
The teaser trailer showed Yoon Ga-min entering the most delinquent school, ‘Yuseong High School.’ He trained his body and sat at his desk with persistence to study. However, his score ranked 279th out of 280. The phrase ‘Study enthusiast who only knows how to study, enters the universe’s strongest delinquent school’ hinted at the upcoming events.
Yoon Ga-min put out a recruitment notice for a study group, but only troublemakers came around. To study, he unleashed his hidden strength, unexpectedly began to conquer the school. ‘Study Group’ will be available on TVING from the 23rd.
