
The movie 'How to Train Your Dragon' (directed by Dean DeBlois) has surpassed 1 million attendees. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticket sales network, 'How to Train Your Dragon' attracted 24,487 viewers on the 16th. The cumulative audience number is 1,002,298.
It has reached the top of the box office for two consecutive weekends (for the weekends of the 6th to the 8th and the 13th to the 15th). While it was outperformed by 'High Five' (directed by Kang Hyung-chul) on weekdays, it regained its top position starting from the 13th.
Its performance in North America is also noteworthy. According to Box Office Mojo's tally, it reached the top of the box office during its opening weekend, earning approximately $84.63 million (about 115 billion KRW).
'How to Train Your Dragon' is a live-action adaptation of the animated film of the same name. It tells the story of the legendary dragon Toothless and the Viking Hiccup, who change the world through their special friendship.
Meanwhile, 'High Five' secured the second place with 23,151 viewers. 'Shin Myung' and 'Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning' gathered around 10,000 viewers each, placing third and fourth.
