"After the Primary, I Plan to Appear on Kim Eo-jun's Broadcast"

Hong Joon-pyo, a candidate for the presidential primary of the People Power Party, has shown boldness by announcing his intention to appear on Kim Eo-jun's YouTube channel after the primaries.

On the 24th, a post titled "In order to resolve political instability, I believe we must embrace both former President Yoon Seok-yeol and Lee Jae-myung (a candidate in the Democratic Party's presidential primary)" was uploaded on Hong's online communication platform, 'Dream of Youth.'

The post is operated in a Q&A format, where Hong personally responds to questions raised by young people.

A commenter, identified as A, presumed to be a supporter of Hong, argued, "We should embrace both Lee Jae-myung's and Yoon Seok-yeol's factions, hire personnel based on ability without regarding their backgrounds, select moderate and compromising individuals, and avoid selecting radical figures who oppose reconciliation."

A referenced King Yeongjo, the 21st king of the Joseon Dynasty, stating, "Yeongjo reappointed the Soron faction, who had plotted to kill him after the Injin Revolt, for the sake of reconciliation."

Additionally, A claimed, "Han Duck-soo (acting president) and Yoon Seok-yeol get along because they want to ensure their personal safety."

In conclusion, A expressed, "If we deal with them as we would with a frightened beast, it can be resolved" and stated, "After the primaries, going on Kim Eo-jun's (YouTube program) or Maebulshow to reassure the frightened leftist folks is not a bad idea.”

In response to A's post, Hong stated, "I plan to appear on Kim Eo-jun's broadcast after the primaries," providing a positive reply.

Another supporter, B, seeing this, posted contradictory opinions saying, "I wish you wouldn't go on leftist or strange broadcasts," and added, "They don't just ask about current issues but ask strange questions. Please avoid leftist broadcasts."

Previously, during the 2021 presidential election, Hong appeared on TBS radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' hosted by Kim Eo-jun.

After facing criticism from some supporters about his appearance on that broadcast, Hong responded, "Politics is a process of integration, not division."

Meanwhile, on the same day, Hong held an emergency press conference at his election camp office in Yeouido, Seoul, stating, "I will work together with everyone regardless of support or opposition within the party," adding, "The martial law incident has been resolved with impeachment, and our only remaining goal is to win the presidential election."

He also declared, "If the acting president Han decides to run in the election and seeks unification against Lee Jae-myung, I will work together with him."

Furthermore, he stated, "We will also work together with the non-mainstream faction of the Democratic Party," asserting, "After winning the presidential election, the Hong Joon-pyo government will also work with Lee Jae-myung's Democratic Party faction."

In response, Han Dong-hoon, a candidate in the People Power Party primary, criticized Hong via his Facebook account, saying, "No matter how impatient you are, to say 'I will work with Lee Jae-myung's faction,' is it not enough to protect Jo Kuk (Jo Kuk Defense Group)? Now are you going to align yourself with the pro-Lee faction?"
