Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo has once again expressed his intention to run for president.

On the 6th, Mayor Hong clarified his presidential aspirations through his social media accounts.

Mayor Hong stated, "Next week seems like it will be a very busy week," detailing his schedule for the upcoming week.

What particularly caught attention was the planned "retirement farewell" on the 8th.

He noted, "Next week will indeed be a busy week. On Tuesday, I will attend a retirement farewell, on Thursday, I will bid farewell to the city council, and on Friday, I plan to express my gratitude to the Daegu City Hall employees," indicating his intent to step down from his mayoral position.

Additionally, Mayor Hong mentioned, "I will be moving for the 25th time," and added, "Just like 53 years ago when I headed to the capital on a night train from Dongdaegu Station, I will again take a high-speed train from Dongdaegu Station to the capital this time."

He continued, "Back then, it was an aimless journey, which felt very daunting, but this time, I am heading up with a joyful heart toward my final dream," effectively declaring his challenge for the presidency.

Meanwhile, on the 5th, Mayor Hong had also revealed through his social media, "I have considered this my final mission in my over 30 years in politics and have been thoroughly preparing. Starting next week, I will sequentially follow the procedures to stand before the people once again."
