“High School Student Arrested in Seoul for Threatening to Blow Up Andong Station Square”

A suspect who threatened to detonate explosives at the former Andong Station plaza was apprehended in Seoul.

On the afternoon of the 15th, at 2:25 PM, the Andong Police Department arrested a teenage high school student, A, at a residence in Dongdaemun, Seoul. A faces charges of public threats.

At 7:37 AM that day, A left a message in the chat room of a live YouTube broadcast of "KBS Documentary," stating, "I will drop explosives at the former Andong Station plaza."

It is reported that the police identified A through location tracking. The Andong Police stated, "We are currently heading to Seoul to interrogate A."

At the location, about 300 citizens and broadcasting personnel were gathered for the filming of KBS-2TV's "Documentary Three Days" (hereinafter referred to as "Doc 3 Days").

The police evacuated the citizens, cordoned off the inside of the station, and began a search operation. They also deployed bomb detection dogs and special equipment.

It is known that no explosives were discovered during the search. The police lifted the scene control around 10:20 AM, approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes later.

Meanwhile, the filming of "Doc 3 Days" was interrupted due to the bomb threat incident. It has been reported that the KBS documentary team will relocate to continue filming.
