Han Duck-soo, Independent Presidential Candidate, Meets with Lee Nak-yon: "I Will Give My All for Constitutional Reform"
Independent presidential candidate Han Duck-soo expressed his intent to pursue constitutional reform and to step down after a three-year term during a meeting with Lee Nak-yon, the former senior advisor of the New Future Democratic Party.
At the lunch meeting held on June 6 at a restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, Han stated, "I will devote all my efforts to ensure proper constitutional reform, and I have made up my mind to step down in three years so that new political forces can create a better country."
Han characterized the current situation as a "crisis of precariousness," emphasizing a "desperate awareness of the problem that if institutional and fundamental changes are not made through constitutional reform, we are likely to fall into a country that cannot even sustain the Miracle on the Han River."
He strongly criticized the Democratic Party's move to impeach the Chief Justice, stating, "It is an act that seeks to destroy the rule of law and liberal democracy. It is a reckless act that disrupts constitutional order."

Han Duck-soo Criticizes Lee Jae-myung's 'Muk-sani-ism' Policy and Lee Nak-yon's Response
Han also issued sharp criticisms regarding candidate Lee Jae-myung's 'Muk-sani-ism' policy.
"The title 'Muk-sani-ism' seems very appealing, but when you look at the content, there is not a single workable solution," he pointed out. "In short, it seems to be a simple continuation of the previous government's policies."
He specifically noted, "The discussion of basic income and unilateral energy policies emerges, but there are no balanced policies at all. If such policies are adopted, it feels like we will completely fall into hell instead of Muk-sani-ism."
In response, Lee Nak-yon stated, "Watching the recent craziness in politics, I felt a serious sense of crisis that the nation is about to become a monstrous state."

He also found common ground in Han's declaration to run for office, stating, "I discovered that the three keywords of constitutional reform, trade, and integration align with me," expressing agreement with Han's intention to operate a transitional government for three years to launch the 7th Republic.
Lee did not hold back in his criticisms towards both ruling and opposition parties.
He remarked, "The People Power Party has caused great harm to the country with outdated martial law and two consecutive presidential impeachments. After such actions, they should apologize, reflect, and adopt a much more humble attitude, yet they display arrogance and complacency." He further urged the Democratic Party, "I hope no one will take a dangerous gamble by holding the national system hostage to protect one person. No one has the right to put the nation in jeopardy."
