Han Duck-soo Joins the People Power Party… “I am not a mercenary, but a family member”

Han Duck-soo, Independent Presidential Candidate, Completes Entry into the People Power Party

Han Duck-soo, an independent presidential candidate, joined the People Power Party (PPP) early this morning (10th).

On the morning of the 10th, Han's campaign released an official notice stating, "Candidate Han completed the entry into the People Power Party following the resolutions of the PPP's Emergency Response Committee and the Election Countermeasure Committee, and has become a responsible party member."

Immediately after joining, Candidate Han introduced himself through a letter titled "To Party Comrades," stating, "I am not a mercenary who suddenly came from outside." He described himself as "a comrade who has fought alongside you at the front lines of state affairs against the rampant opposition party over the past three years."

On this day, the People Power Party canceled the selection of Kim Mun-soo as the 21st presidential candidate and registered Han as the sole presidential candidate.

Regarding his relationship with the People Power Party, Han emphasized, "Every time the National Assembly convened and every time the impeachment was passed, the members of the People Power Party were my strongest policy partners and supporters." He asserted, "When opposition party members pushed unreasonable policies solely by the power of numbers, the members and supporters of the People Power Party stood together to block the legislative dictatorship of the opposition with their bodies."

He said, "From today, we are no longer just partners or supporters but family," adding, "We must unite as one to revive the economy, protect liberal democracy, and safeguard the Republic of Korea."

He continued, "We must win in this presidential election. Differences do not matter for victory. If we unite, we can surely win. For ourselves and for future generations, we must win. If we win, there is a future for the Republic of Korea," stressing the necessity of victory.

He also emphasized, "We must forge ahead together with a collective effort towards the desperate goal of reviving the economy through political change," calling this "the command of the party members, the command of the people, and the command of the era."
