‘Google Main Page’ with a lone search bar… Revamping to fill content like Naver

Google changes its homepage like Naver and Daum

The first screen of Google, which used to have just a logo and a search bar, is set to change to resemble Naver and Daum.

On the 9th (local time), Google unveiled its first screen filled with personalized content at its event 'Search Central Live' held in Madrid, Spain.

This event was attended by industry professionals, including website operators, search engine optimization (SEO) experts, and developers.

The first screen unveiled by Google displayed the Google logo and search bar positioned at the top center of the screen, similar to Naver's first screen.

Additionally, Google plans to improve user personalization by supporting its 'Discover' feature, which is currently available only on mobile, for desktop as well.

This feature automatically posts content sorted based on users' search histories in a card news format.

SEO expert Aleyda Solis, who attended the event, stated, "Focusing on providing personalized information is Google's mission, and regardless of any changes, this goal and mission are unlikely to change."

Meanwhile, Google is facing challenges in 'data collection,' which is essential for personalization, due to changes in users' portal usage patterns.

Reasons cited for this include the emergence of 'bots' that automatically generate content, the rise of closed platforms, users' pursuit of personalized environments and concise 'images,' and the advent of new technologies.
