Netflix has confirmed the production of director Byun Sung-Hyun's film 'Good News.' Actors Sol Kyung-Gu, Hong Kyung, and Ryu Seung-Bum have been cast in leading roles.
'Good News' is a film about airplane hijacking. The setting is in 1970 and it depicts the strategies of people determined to land a hijacked plane by any means necessary.
This is the second collaboration between director Byun Sung-Hyun and Netflix. Previously, Byun showcased a stylish killer movie 'Kill Boksoon' on Netflix. This time, he returns with a hijacking film.
Byun and Sol Kyung-Gu are a reliable duo as well. This marks their fourth collaboration, following 'The Merciless,' 'Kingmaker,' and 'Kill Boksoon,' now joining forces again for 'Good News.'
Sol Kyung-Gu transforms into a mysterious troubleshooter in 'Good News.' He appears whenever needed to resolve situations. His compelling acting is expected to lead the film.
Hong Kyung takes on the role of an Air Force Lieutenant who is deployed on a secret mission. He is expected to display his unique charm that is both gentle and powerful.
Ryu Seung-Bum also emits a unique presence. He plays a government official who controls the command of all operations. His realistic acting and charisma will enhance immersion.
According to Netflix, "This is director Byun's new challenge," adding that "with an unpredictable story and fresh character conflicts, it will keep the tension high throughout."
