Actors Kim Yun-seok, Yoon Kye-sang, Go Min-si, and Lee Jung-eun have completed an extreme suspense thriller. Netflix unveiled character stills from its new original series 'In the Woods Where No One Exists' (directed by Mo Wan-il) on the 6th. Scenes that give a glimpse into the characters' narratives have been revealed.

The genre is a suspense thriller. It tells the story of people whose peaceful lives are disrupted and who get caught up in uncontrollable events due to a suspicious guest who visits in the middle of summer.

First is Kim Yun-seok as Yeongha. Yeongha is a character who runs a pension in the woods. His deep, troubled gaze is captured in the stills, hinting at a meaningful atmosphere.

Yeongha runs a pension in the woods by himself, having left Seoul to fulfill his wife's wish. One summer day, he is caught in a whirlwind due to the unexpected arrival of a guest named Seong-a (played by Go Min-si).

Kim Yun-seok said, "Yeongha is in conflict throughout the work, and Seong-a provokes him," adding, "The fight is between Seong-a, who tries to put a monster in Yeongha's heart and conquer it, and Yeongha, who resists it."

This is Kim Yun-seok's return to a series after 17 years. He expressed his hope by saying, "I believe it can resonate both domestically and internationally. I hope to see more works with such powerful narratives."

Yoon Kye-sang portrayed Sangjun's contrasting expressions. He was captured both smiling and looking deeply concerned. Sangjun is a diligent motel owner who finds himself in crisis due to a guest.

Yoon Kye-sang explained, "I wanted to express the essence of a diligent and good person, so I tried to be more genuine rather than adorned," and added, "I wanted to balance the emotional gaps well."

Continuing, he shared, "It's a work with a subtle charm, and as an actor, it was both a source of contemplation and enjoyment. It's a work I have no regrets about, and I'm happy to have had such a precious experience."

Go Min-si revealed a new face. Scenes followed where she drew with a heavily made-up face and drank wine with someone. She plays a character obsessed with Yeongha's pension.

Go Min-si said, "Every time I read the script, I felt chills all over my body. The relationships between the characters and the flow of the story were that absorbing."

She added, "It was the highest difficulty character. I absolutely didn't want to play it in a way that seemed simple or obvious. I wanted to create it as a character I was encountering for the first time."

Lee Jung-eun transformed into Bomin, a police station chief. She is a former ace of the major crimes unit who tenaciously delves into and solves cases, adding tension to the drama with her keen intuition.

Lee Jung-eun explained, "In one documentary, a detective said you need to read the criminal to catch them, and they talked about the thrill of catching them. I approached Bomin with the idea that the desire to catch drives her."

She continued, "I've played many impulsive and emotional characters up till now. Bomin is different in nature," adding, "I newly learned how to drive, shoot guns, and approach cases."

'In the Woods Where No One Exists' will be released on Netflix on the 23rd.
