
The movie ‘Gladiator 2’ (directed by Ridley Scott) topped the reservation rate on its release day. ‘Gladiator 2’ was released in Korea on the 13th, the world’s first release. According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network for movie tickets, as of 8 a.m. that day, 92,951 tickets had been reserved.
It ranked first in the overall reservation rate, including upcoming films, with a real-time reservation rate of 29.6%. It was 17.7 percentage points higher than the second-place film ‘Wicked’ (directed by Jon Chu). ‘Gladiator 2’ is a sequel to ‘Gladiator.’ It tells the story of Lucius (played by Paul Mescal), who engages in a battle that will determine the fate of Rome, 20 years after the death of Maximus.
Ridley Scott took the megaphone again following his previous work. He brought back the illegitimate child born between Maximus and the princess after 24 years. The production cost approximately 3 billion won. Meanwhile, the box office number one was ‘Listening In,’ attracting 23,159 viewers, followed by ‘Venom: Last Dance’ and ‘Amazon Hwalmyungsu.’
