(G)I-DLE will renew their contracts entirely. (G)I-DLE attended the ’16th Melon Music Awards’ (MMA) held at Inspire Arena in Jung-gu, Incheon on the 30th. They received their first ‘MMA’ grand prize, winning the Record of the Year award. Miyeon expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you to everyone who loves our music.”

Minnie, seemingly overwhelmed, shed tears and shared her thoughts, “This is our first grand prize. It’s an honor,” and added, “We will continue to work hard, so please stay with us for a long time.” Soyeon took the microphone and said, “For seven years, I wondered how we could receive such a big award, but thanks to Neverland (fandom name), we received this award.”

She announced the decision to renew their contracts entirely. Soyeon revealed, “There were many articles about possible disbandment as my contract was ending with the company, but we’ve decided to renew together.” She continued, “We talked about it before going on stage, and we five will be together for life, so please don’t worry. We’ll repay you with good music.”
