Ganghwa’s ‘shooting murderer’ who operated a video room for 27 years… history of committing ‘sexual crimes’ against female customers revealed

Suspect in Songdo Son's Murder Revealed to Have Past Sexual Offense Record

A shocking past record of A, who has been arrested on charges of murdering his biological son using a homemade firearm in Songdo, Incheon, has been revealed.

According to a ruling submitted to the Supreme Court by People's Power lawmaker Joo Jin-woo on the 25th, it has been confirmed that A was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison for charges including special forced molestation resulting in injury at the Seoul Northern District Court in February 1999.

At the time, A was operating a video room in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul.

In December 1998, A reportedly committed a crime by unlawfully entering the room of a 25-year-old female customer who was watching a video alone in the early hours.

Additional Crimes Related to Minors and the Court's Judgment

A's crimes did not stop there. He also faced charges for illegally employing a 17-year-old minor as an employee and allowing three minors, including a 16-year-old, to enter the video room (violation of the Youth Protection Act).

Regarding this, the court at the time stated, "The location and methods of the offenses are very bad," and sentenced him to actual imprisonment.

However, the situation changed in June 1999 during the appeal. The Seoul High Court partially accepted A's claim of 'diminished capacity' due to intoxication at the time of the offense, reducing the sentence to 2 years and 6 months in prison with a 4-year probation. This ruling was confirmed as is.

This was one year before A divorced his ex-wife.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that A recently stated during an investigation with a profiler that he felt betrayed as he had been listed as an employee in a family company and received a monthly salary of 3 million won, but the payments had stopped at some point last year.
