Singer G-Dragon is making a comeback. He is releasing a new song after seven years.
On the 31st, Galaxy Corporation announced, “G-Dragon is making his comeback. At 6 PM today, he will release a new digital single ‘POWER’ on various music platforms.”
This marks G-Dragon’s return after approximately 7 years and 4 months. He last released his second solo EP album ‘Kwon Ji Yong’ in 2017, focusing on his personal stories.
The new song is titled ‘POWER’. It’s a hip-hop track featuring G-Dragon’s intense rap over an addictive beat. The song is characterized by witty lyrics with double meanings.
G-Dragon shared his thoughts on the comeback during an appearance on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’ on the 30th. He explained, “I wanted to make music as G-Dragon once again.”
Regarding the new song, he said, “‘POWER’ is a song about strength,” adding, “During the hiatus, I realized the significant power of the media. It includes satire and various meanings on that matter.”
After the ‘You Quiz on the Block’ broadcast, he also held a live session on social media. He pre-released the new song from what appeared to be a recording booth, performing various motions to match the lyrics.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon will release the ‘POWER’ track at 6 PM on the same day.
