Four Men in Their 20s Found in Cardiac Arrest After Swimming Accident in Chungnam Geumgang

A tragic incident occurred where four men in their 20s enjoying swimming in the Geumgang River, Chungnam, went missing and were later found in a state of cardiac arrest.

According to the fire department on the 9th, at around 6:20 PM that day, four men in their 20s who were swimming near the upper reaches of the Geumgang River in Jecheon, Geumsan-gun, went missing and were discovered in a state of cardiac arrest about three hours later.

These individuals were old classmates from middle school, and it is estimated by the fire department that they encountered an unforeseen accident while visiting the Geumsan area from Daejeon for some leisure activities.

Notably, the location where they were swimming was a designated no-entry zone with strong currents, and it was found that they were not wearing life jackets at the time of the incident.

Currently, the police and fire authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including inquiries with the person who reported the incident.
