Kang Ji-yong, a former professional soccer player, has passed away at the age of 37.

Kang Ji-yong made his professional debut after being selected 5th overall by Pohang Steelers in the K League draft in 2009. He subsequently played as a defender for various clubs including Busan IPark, Bucheon FC 1995, Gangwon FC, and Incheon United FC.
He earned the love of fans through his dedicated play and sincerity, concluding his 13-year playing career at the end of the 2022 season.
Despite retiring, he continued his involvement in the sports community. In February, he appeared on "Divorce Counseling Camp" with his wife, Lee Da-eun. The show highlighted serious conflicts between the couple, leaving a deep impression and solemnity among viewers.

Kang Ji-yong passed away on the 22nd. His memorial is set up at the Soonchunhyang University Hospital Cheonan Funeral Hall, with his wife Lee Da-eun and their three-year-old daughter listed as the attendees.
Funeral procedures are being conducted amidst the deep sorrow of family and fans, with the funeral scheduled for 6:30 AM on the 25th. The burial site has been designated as Cheonan Memorial Park.
