Former Justice Minister Cho Kuk, Released Through Liberation Day Special Pardon, Resumes SNS Activities
Former Representative Cho Kuk of the Justice Party, who was released on August 15th through the Liberation Day special pardon, immediately resumed his social media (SNS) activities right after his release.
On the evening of his release day, he shared a 7-second video of stew simmering on his Facebook account, along with a concise message stating "family meal."

The video appears to show former Representative Cho having a meal with his family, including his wife, former professor Jeong Kyung-shim of Dongyang University, who was also released under the special pardon.
Having a meal with his family was one of the things that former Representative Cho wanted to do the most after his release. He had mentioned in his recently published book from prison, "Studying for the People," that among the things he most wanted to do after his release were having a meal with his family, taking a hot bath, and having drinks with friends and comrades.
From Justice Minister to Inmate, Now Back to Freedom
Former Representative Cho was sentenced to a two-year prison term last December for charges related to children's college entrance exam fraud and trying to cover up Inspector General investigations, and he was released after about eight months under this special pardon.

Upon his release around midnight on the 15th, he emphasized, "Today’s pardon and restoration of my rights will be recorded as one of the symbolic scenes marking the end of the prosecution's dictatorship that has misused its power."
He also expressed his gratitude to President Yoon Suk-yeol for making a constitutional decision, stating, "The Lee Jae-myung administration must succeed, and President Yoon must become a successful president."
Continuing, he revealed that he had undergone deep reflection and wide contemplation during the past eight months and stated, "If the restoration occurs, I will enter back into the community with a more humble attitude and a lowered stance."
