Yoon Suk-yeol "We Must Win" Message Sparks Discontent Within Party
As former President Yoon Suk-yeol offered a message related to the presidential election, concerns and criticisms immediately surfaced within the People Power Party.
On the 11th, former President Yoon posted a piece titled 'An Appeal to the People' on his social media, effectively expressing public support for candidate Kim Mun-soo, who has registered to run for president.

In this message, former President Yoon emphasized, "We must win this election" and stated, "The political philosophy proposed by Candidate Kim is the essence of liberal democracy." While this message appears to directly engage in the presidential election, reactions from within the party have indicated fears that it could have a detrimental impact on the election.
Yang Hyang-ja "Yoon vs. Lee Graphic is a Certain Defeat" … Han Dong-hoon "Expulsion Must Be Considered"
Co-chair of the joint election campaign Yang Hyang-ja publicly criticized former President Yoon's intervention during a campaign committee meeting. He declared, "This message is a serious setback that obstructs the party's effort to expand its base," adding, "If this election is perceived as a contest between Yoon Suk-yeol and Lee Jae-myung, there’s no chance of victory."
He also noted, "Former President Yoon cannot overcome this framing unless he formally apologizes to the public regarding issues related to the martial law."

Former leader of the People Power Party Han Dong-hoon also launched a direct attack through social media. He argued, "Former President Yoon is repeatedly delivering messages that are not helpful for the election while trying to exert influence over party operations," claiming, "Expulsion measures are necessary." He specifically urged Candidate Kim Mun-soo to "firmly sever ties with the Yoon couple and clarify his position on martial law and impeachment to the people."
Leadership Cautious in Addressing Expulsion While Attempting Damage Control
Yoon Jae-ok, the head of the election campaign committee, refrained from discussing the controversy surrounding former President Yoon's message when speaking to reporters after the meeting. He remarked, "Exchanging evaluations about individual messages does not contribute to election strategy."

Regarding the potential for discussions on expulsion or de-certification of former President Yoon, he stated, "We should focus on delivering future visions to the public rather than dwelling on past issues." This indicates a commitment to manage the narrative so that the election strategy does not become overshadowed by the 'Yoon Suk-yeol frame.'
In conclusion, Yoon emphasized, "We will focus on how our candidate can make the Republic of Korea a great nation and highlight the national crises that may arise if the Democratic Party comes to power."
