Former President Yoon Suk-yeol Completes First Summons Investigation by Special Counsel… Second Investigation Scheduled for the 30th
The first summons investigation of former President Yoon Suk-yeol by the Special Counsel team led by Jo Eun-seok, regarding the December 3 Martial Law-related insurrection and foreign exchange case, concluded on the 29th. Former President Yoon arrived at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office around 9:55 AM on the 28th and left the office around 12:59 AM on the 29th after approximately 15 hours. The Special Counsel team determined that additional investigation was necessary and notified him of a second summons investigation scheduled for 9 AM on the 30th, to which Yoon's side stated that they would attend the legal summons.
"I will attend the legal summons."
During the investigation, former President Yoon did not stand at the photo line and maintained silence throughout the process.

The actual investigation time was about 5 hours and 5 minutes, which was shortened due to his objections during questioning by Park Chang-hwan, head of the Major Crimes Investigation Division of the National Police Agency, demanding a change of investigators and refusing to enter the investigation room.
Former President Yoon claimed that it was like "the perpetrator investigating the victim" and requested an investigation by the prosecution, rather than the police.
Investigation Suspension and Resumption, Second Summons Notice
Yoon's attorney, Song Jin-ho, explained, "Since Chief Park is under investigation for obstruction of special public duty, it is not appropriate for someone who has engaged in illegal actions to conduct the investigation," adding, "The prosecutor expressed the need for the investigation, and the investigation was paused to coordinate that."
The Special Counsel team accepted this request, and Chief Prosecutors Kim Jeong-guk and Jo Jae-cheol conducted investigations related to the Cabinet meeting and foreign exchange.

During the investigation, former President Yoon responded to questions without refusing to testify and reportedly agreed to a late-night investigation. However, the Special Counsel team judged the investigation to be insufficient and notified him of the second summons investigation scheduled for the 30th.
The second investigation will address allegations of ordering the deletion of records on the "Beehive" phone, obstruction of arrest, foreign exchange, interference with National Assembly decisions, and matters related to Cabinet meetings in more detail.
Special Counsel Park Ji-young emphasized, "If there are parts necessary for the investigation, we will need to summon him again," stating that "there is no limit to the number of times."
Conversely, attorney Song stated, "We answered everything sincerely and took the investigation faithfully," mentioning that discussions regarding the second summons are ongoing, and confirmed, "Of course, we will attend the legal summons."
