Former President Yoon Seok-yeol Requests Change in Schedule for Second Special Prosecutor Summons
Former President Yoon Seok-yeol's side has requested a change in schedule regarding the special prosecutor team's (special prosecutor) demand for attendance related to the second in-person investigation of charges of insurrection.
On the 29th, Yoon's legal team issued a statement saying that the special prosecutor's requirement for attendance at 9 AM on the 30th is "a very tight schedule considering the suspect's health and the protection of the defense rights in the ongoing trial."

The legal team announced that they submitted a written request to the special prosecutor in the afternoon of the same day, asking for the second attendance date to be adjusted to after July 3rd.
They made it clear that summoning Yoon just two days after the first investigation on the 28th is a schedule that does not take into account the suspect's situation.
"Principles of voluntary investigation and compliance with legal procedures must be followed"… Criticism of the special prosecutor's unilateral notification
Yoon's side also raised issues with the special prosecutor's method of summoning.
The legal team asserted, "The special prosecutor must thoroughly adhere to the principles of voluntary investigation and legal procedures," emphasizing that "the summons of a suspect should also comply with the principles of voluntary investigation, and there should be sufficient consultation with the suspect and their lawyer about the summons."
The legal team further highlighted that the special prosecutor's demand for a second attendance was communicated unilaterally without prior consultation with the suspect or their lawyer and publicly disclosed to the media, thereby violating relevant laws.

Earlier, on the 28th at 9:55 AM, former President Yoon entered the entrance of the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office, which was set up for the special prosecutor's investigation. After approximately 15 hours, he concluded the investigation around 12:59 AM on the 29th and left the office.
As tensions arose between former President Yoon and the insurrection special prosecutor, it was reported that the actual questioning of the suspect lasted only 5 hours and 5 minutes.
The special prosecutor's team demanded that former President Yoon return to the office by 9 AM on the 30th to undergo another investigation.
