Former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his spouse's assets nearing 8 billion KRW at retirement
According to the Constitutional Court's decision to remove him from office, the assets of former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his spouse, who retired in April, have been recorded at 7,991,150,000 KRW.
This amount represents an increase of approximately 350 million KRW compared to the reported 7,639,990,000 KRW at the time of his presidential inauguration in 2022. When compared to the most recent publicly disclosed assets of 7,481,120,000 KRW as of the end of 2023, it reflects an increase of 510 million KRW.

On the 25th, the Government Official Ethics Commission published the "July Registration of High-ranking Officials' Assets" via the official gazette.
The disclosure included 54 high-ranking officials who experienced changes in their positions between April 2 and May 1 this year, encompassing newly appointed (18), promoted (14), and retired (19) individuals.
Details and specifics of former President Yoon's assets
A detailed examination of the reported assets of former President Yoon and his spouse reveals that the Acro Vista complex building (residential + commercial) in Seocho-gu, Seoul is valued at 1,948,000,000 KRW, with deposits totaling 5,742,240,000 KRW and land valued at 309,000,000 KRW.
Notably, the price of Acro Vista increased by approximately 379,000,000 KRW from 1,569,000,000 KRW to 1,948,000,000 KRW.

Among the total assets nearing 8 billion KRW, former President Yoon's personal deposits amount to 693,690,000 KRW, while the majority is registered under his spouse, Kim Kun-hee.
An official from the Ministry of Personnel Management explained, "Former President Yoon was incarcerated during the asset reporting period early this year, which is why he was omitted from the regular disclosures," adding, "The retirement date was April 4, when the Constitutional Court endorsed the impeachment motion."
Asset status of other high-ranking officials
Among retired high-ranking officials, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok, who resigned on May 1, reported assets of 4,514,830,000 KRW, the second-largest among them. This amount represents an increase of 49,430,000 KRW compared to the reported assets of 4,465,540,000 KRW disclosed in March of this year. Former Deputy Prime Minister Choi is also noted to continue holding approximately 200 million KRW worth of 30-year U.S. Treasury bonds purchased last year.

Former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo has reported assets of 4,263,700,000 KRW, confirming him as the third-highest asset holder among retirees.
Among currently serving high-ranking officials, the Ambassador to Iraq, Lee Joon-il, topped the list with assets of 5,279,916,000 KRW, followed by Cho Jung-ah, the chief secretary of the Nuclear Safety Commission, with 4,415,210,000 KRW.
